About this edition
The 9th Jyväskylä Tattoo Rock & Art Festival will be held May 8-9, 2026, at Ilokivi Venue, Keskussairaalantie 2, 40600 Jyväskylä, Finland. This edition promises the feel of a large convention despite its intimate scale, hosting 55 artists. The festival spans two levels of Ilokivi, a renowned local underground and metal concert venue. The schedule features live concerts, various acts, and surprises. A key attraction is the 11 tattoo contest categories: Best Realistic, Small and Large Colour, Small and Large Black and Grey, Old School/Neo Trad, Best Graphic, Best Crazy, Best of Day Friday, Best of Day Saturday, and Best of Sunday. Only artists with a convention stand may compete. "Best of Day" entries must be done at the show; other categories allow older tattoos. Each tattoo can enter one main category plus a "Best of Day" award if applicable. Beyond the festival, a Thursday afternoon/evening get-together with drinks and dinner is planned for participants (details pending). A separate Sunday gathering for all artists, assistants, and vendors will also offer networking opportunities.
