About this edition
The ninth Jyväskylä Tattoo Rock & Art Festival is scheduled for May 8-9, 2026. This year's event will take place at the Ilokivi Venue, located at Keskussairaalantie 2, 40600 Jyväskylä, Finland. While intimate in scale, this edition will host 55 artists, designed to deliver the expansive atmosphere of a large convention. The event occupies two levels of Ilokivi, a renowned local venue known for underground and metal concerts. The agenda features live concerts, various performances, and surprises. A key highlight is the 11-category tattoo competition, covering: Best Realistic, Small and Large Colour, Small and Large Black and Grey, Old School/Neo Trad, Best Graphic, Best Crazy, Best of Day Friday, Best of Day Saturday, and Best of Sunday. Only artists operating a convention stand are eligible to compete. "Best of Day" entries must be completed at the show; other categories allow older tattoos. Each tattoo can be submitted to one main category, plus a "Best of Day" award if applicable. Beyond the main festival, a Thursday afternoon/evening gathering for participants, including drinks and dinner, is planned, with specific details pending. A separate Sunday networking event is also arranged for all artists, assistants, and vendors.
